Rainbow Kimono:
The Beginning of my Kimono Journey
This was one of my first experiences with Kimono. I still had a lot to learn from how to wear kimono and what I needed to wear wafuku properly!
Since these photos I have learned so much and I learned that for komon it is proper to wear a juban underneath the kimono, to have an obiita to help keep the obi from getting wrinkled, and to have more koshi-himo to keep the kimono in place. I will be redoing this look to replace these eventually. But this is proof of where I began in my Kimono Journey!
These Photos were taken at the Des Moines, Iowa Botanical Garden.
I dressed myself.
Makeup and hair I did myself.
